Sepertinya Anda harus mengubah anggapan bahwa es batu yang berasal dari restoran siap saji aman untuk dikonsumsi.Penelitian yg dilakukan oleh seorang anak perempuan yang baru berusia 12 tahun,Jasmine Roberts di Florida USA,membuktikan bahwa 70% es batu restoran siap saji memiliki lebih banyak kuman dibandingkan air toilet.Dari hasil tes positif ditemukan bakteri E.coli yang biasanya terdapat dari sisa air pembuangan yang menyebabkan timbulnya beberapa jenis penyakit.Lewat penelitian ini Jasmine berhasil mendapatkan penghargaan proyek sekolah menengah. Jasmine membuktikan penelitian ini dengan mengambil contoh es batu dan air toilet dari lima restoran siap saji yang berada di wilayah Florida Selatan. Setelah lengkap, ia melakukan pengecekan bakteri dari contoh es batu dan air toilet itu di University of South Florida . Dari hasil tes positif ditemukan bakteri E.coli yang biasanya terdapat dari sisa air pembuangan yang menyebabkan timbulnya beberapa jenis penyakit. 'Bakteri ini seharusnya tak berada di dalam es batu. Jasmine membantu kita memperingatkan adanya bahaya kesehatan yang bisa disebabkan oleh es batu ini,' ungkap Dr. David Katz kontributor masalah kesehatan 'Good Morning Amerika'. Baik Jasmin dan Dr. David mengatakan bahwa "ES BATU TERSEBUT DINILAI LEBIH KOTOR DARI AIR TOILET" karena mesin es batunya tidak bersih dan orang menggunakan tangan yang kotor untuk mengambil es.
